Gimpo Int’l Airport is located at 100 Haneul-gil (Gonghang-dong) Gangseo-guSeoul. The history of Gimpo
Int’l Airport began when the Japanese Air Force constructed a runway in 1939 at Banghwa-ri Yangseo-myeon Gimpo-gun Gyeonggi-do. Later, it was opened to private planes by the u.S. Air Force and partially opened to Korean pilots from 1954. It was finally named Gimpo International Airport in 1958 by the Presidential Order and
began to transform into a facility public services from 1971. As the first public airport in Korea, Gimpo Int’l
Airport not only serves as an airport, but it has established a space for culture, leisure, and shopping called ‘Sky City’ to entertain many people.
